If you were feeling worried about an impending summer style slump, Bella Hadid’s recent Cannes looks should serve as the perfect inspiration. The supermodel has made the sunny French beachside her runway for her red carpet and street style looks because, of course, she has—she’s Bella Hadid. What’s more, her best looks to date are usually her summer ones when she can play with fun vintage dresses and glowy beauty looks that feel natural to her style.

Earlier this week, the Orebella founder made headlines for her latte nails, but her latest manicure is her most laidback and chic yet. On May 23, Hadid went to work with new looks to add to our Pinterest mood boards. She showed up in not one but two dresses paired with a super sheer milky manicure.

Simple nail looks have been thriving at the film festival this year, but it makes sense. When you’re constantly wearing different gowns in different colors and patterns, a pared-back manicure looks polished but pairs well with everything. Milky manicures have been by far the most popular style as of late, co-signed by Anne HathawayDemi Moore, and now Hadid.

Hadid swapped her soft brown nails from earlier in the festival for a super light wash of white polish. The star opted for an almond shape with a pearly white-meets-nude shade that felt equal parts relaxed and put together.

Along with pared-back manicures, Hadid can’t get enough of sleek ballerina buns. In one look, she styled a red and white keffiyeh dress from Michael and Hushi’s 2001 collection (a top from the same collection was worn by Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City). She paired it with a pretty white eyelet scrunchie and red kitten heels.

The same day, the 27-year-old styled her milky nails and ballerina bun with a full Jacquemus look. She wore a white asymmetrical dress, turquoise Bambino bag, and double-sole heels from the brand. For both outfits, she kept her beauty simple with a super glowy complexion, a swipe of bronzer, and a little bit of sparkle on her eyelid.

There’s no “right way” to wear the milky manicure but it always adds a touch of sophistication and intention to every outfit. If you’re familiar with the “no makeup” makeup trend, the milky manicure is just that, but for nails. You’ll feel like you’re wearing nothing but still feel polished and put together.
